A military summary of the time from 1935 to 1945 for our home"country" "Ostwestfalen" don`t exists at this time. Because of my military duty in "Augustdorf" and my growing interests of the history was the beginning of my hobby, collect uniforms and building a small home-museum. My hobby is getting much bigger and i hope it will ending in a museum for all kind of visitors. I think a museum must be mixtur of Uniforms, photos and vehicles and other items. We plan a museum, starts with the army from 1914, the "Reichswehr" to the german Bundeswehr in our times. center of gravity will be the "Wehrmacht" in Ostwestfalen. The museum will be a non-typical museum with uniforms and dolls. It will be a museum with typical scenes of wartimes where vistors get the feeling of beeing a part of it. Thats the only way to feel - and to understand military-history. At Reenactments we try to build realistic german units like a squad from the Panzerjägerabteilung 228 or troops from the "Panzergrenadierregiments 192". We hope that the spectators understand how the soldiers in world war II lives and suffer. |
